Yoga?? Anyone have advice?
April 10, 2010 · Posted in Celebrity
I want to start doing yoga. For stress relief purposes, I have been under extreme stress since the end of October. What is the best way for begginers to start? Is any of the yoga on, on demand any good? Should I take a class? If you are experienced in yoga please give me any tips and advice possible! Thanks Khloe!!!

The best way to start as a beginner is to find a local yoga studio or a class at your gym and go to a specifically beginners’ class. While doing yoga at home with DVDs and on your own is great, it’s really important to start out in a class. That’s because the instructors are trained to help you protect your body from injuries and to show you how to do the poses in proper alignment. If you do it at home alone to start, it could be harmful.
The link below has really great information for beginners- what to expect in class, what are the different types of yoga, how to talk to your teacher, and more. There’s also a studio directory where you can find a class in your area.
I’m so glad you’re turning to yoga for stress relief because I have found that it has helped me in that area immensely. I’m much calmer now and more able to handle stressful situations. Good luck!

Great question.
[remember this] Then repeat several times.
My school is forced to participate in yoga, because most of the kids in my school are over-weight, or extremely lazy.
We started with deep breathing. Lay on your back, eyes closed. Legs straight, toes pointing up. Your palms facing up. Take deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth. Move your hands on to your stomach, repeat the breathing. Then to the ribcage, then to the throat. Next sit with your knees pointing out opposite directions, holding your feet next to your crotch, and try to pull them in as close as you can, you should rock slowly from side to side. Next stand up, arms out, and hold your foot above your knee. Stand like that for as long as you can, than switch legs. Next do a sun salutation. That is when you start by standing, your hands pressing together, fingers facing up, as hard as you can so your arms tremble. Then push them up and then they part with your arms high above your head. Your back should be arched now. Then bend down and touch your toes, if you can do it without bending your knees, then go down into cobra, which is when you are laying on your stomach, legs out straight against the floor, and your arms holding your chest and head up with your chin facing the ceiling or sky if you prefur to do it outside, i doubt it since it’s winter.
next try downward facing dog, i hate this one but it’s the best for you.
make a "^" looking thing with your body. your heels should be flat on the ground., your back up and your head between your arms which should be supporting you. keep them straight. hold this for four deep breaths, in through the nose out through the mouth, then five, then six.
then do cobra for four, then five, then six.
do it in this order
dog – 4 breaths
cobra – 4 breaths
dog – 5 breaths
cobra – 5 breaths
dog – 6 breaths
cobra – 6 breaths
When you get better at it hold it for longer. I am sure jthere are tonnes more, but these are good beginner ones.
I hope I helped. I typed my fingers out!
