Is yoga or pilates better for back pain?

I’ve injured my back several times and I’m wondering whether I should take yoga or pilates to alleviate the pain. I’d do both but I don’t have time time…
I’d prefer to go to the yoga class seeing as it’s closer but if pilates is substantially better I would definitely do pilates.

    Try one now and then the other if you feel a need to. Any way that you can stretch and strengthen your body will help your back.

    Depends on what ,exactly, is causing the pain. I went to physical therapy 3 times a week for some persistent back pain, and they were able to evaluate me, decide where the pain was coming from, and design an effective routine of a few targeted exercises that really made a world of difference. If you have good insurance, it should only cost the $20 or so for a copay per visit, and after you get the hang of the exercises, you can just do them at home. Worked for me.
